'And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.'
— Friedrich Nietzsche
le timbre is made in a small shed surrounded by an acre of vines in Keilor, Melbourne, Australia. Everything is done on-site by hand with the help of friends and family.
The word ‘timbre’ refers to a distinctive quality or character – most notably when describing a musical sound or voice. I’ve always been surrounded by music. Since falling in love with wine, I have observed symmetry between the definition of timbre and terroir. I am completely taken by the details of wine and I dream of looking after my own vineyard from which all of the fruit for le timbre is sourced and vinified. I currently source all of my fruit from growers who work with a range of practices from conventional, minimal to regenerative.
All of my wines are small batch, wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined.
